"For the Upright bass, I use Thomastik Spirocore Weich. For the Electric, I use either Powerbass roundwound or Jazz Bass flatwound. For pizzicato jazz work, the Spirocores cut through a rhythm section and give a nice growl in the low end. The Powerbass electric strings have a nice resonance and last long. The Jazz Bass flats are good for studio work where a vintage sound is required."
